Most social platforms prioritize keeping users on their platforms. They penalize retailers who try to get platform users to follow links to our websites. <em>Pinterest is designed to link to locations off of the platform<\/em>. That makes it an ideal platform to leverage for increased traffic to my website &#8211; and yours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You may be familiar with using Pinterest<\/strong> to research ideas or create topic-specific boards for something you are interested in. It&#8217;s a lot of fun &#8211; maybe even a bit addictive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Using Pinterest as a retailer<\/strong> &#8211; involves learning how to strategically create image and video pins, boards &#8211; and now collage pins as lead magnets to draw platform users to your website.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I came across an article from\u00a0Crystal Vilkaitis from Crystal Media<\/strong> and the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crystalmediaco.com\/rooted\/\">Rooted in Retail Podcast.<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0She shared some tips for retailers wanting to incorporate Pinterest into their marketing strategy. The article includes tips about how to complete your business profile, strategies for naming your account, and Pinterest best practices. It also includes some tips for using the newly released &#8220;Collage&#8221; pin type.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Collage Pins<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Says Vilkaitis,<\/strong>\u00a0&#8220;The latest Pin type Pinterest has released is called \u201cCollage\u201d, using multiple pins, background images, doodles, and text! This is essentially like building a scrapbook page, a vision board, or an outfit grid, all within Pinterest!<\/p>\n<p><strong>When I saw this new Pin type on Pinterest,<\/strong> I clicked on it, and it took me less than 2 minutes to stumble through this new feature. First, you search in Pins for items you want to include in your board. You\u2019re able to pick out individual items to build into a more comprehensive pin. Next, you can choose the background images, doodle with the pen tool, and add text if you\u2019d like. My feed has been filled with these pins for the last couple of weeks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collage pins have\u00a0a lot of potential for retailers<\/strong>. Imagine creating a themed collage pin that includes everything one would need to create a quilt, an outfit, or a craft project. Everything included in the collage pin &#8211; would link back to that item in your store.
